Pour People Coffee

One ordinary morning, I stood at the pickup counter of my neighborhood café, waiting for my usual cup. Beside me, two older women draped in very expensive clothing and jewelry were having what appeared to be a humorous conversation. At the register was a man who appeared to be experiencing homelessness. Struggling to get the cashier’s attention for what felt like several minutes. The ladies begin to laugh, as one of them said, “This coffee is not for the poor.”

I walked over to the man and offered to buy him a cup of coffee. He very proudly offered me a neatly folded $1.00 bill with one of the saddest faces I had ever seen. I encouraged him to hold on to that dollar & we began chatting. A simple gesture turned into a 45-minute conversation—about life, resilience, dreams, and the invisible walls that separate us. In that moment, I realized something that would change everything for me: One cup of coffee could bring together two people from completely different worlds.

This brand was created to be more than a beverage brand. It’s a reminder that coffee isn’t about status—it’s about connection. Every cup we pour carries that belief: that everyone deserves grace, dignity, respect, and a seat at someone’s table. The thought of starting a beverage brand was there & weeks earlier, I had scribbled two names into a composition notebook—

”Beans & Bloom” and “The Pour”.
